Many times people avoid getting help for substance use disorder because  responsibilities like work or family make it difficult for them to take time away for healing. That’s why Principles Recovery Center offers an outpatient program for addiction treatment. It requires less time but offers a robust support system for the sobriety journey.

OUTPATIENT TREATMENT
IN SOUTH FLORIDA

Many different factors can lead to substance addiction: early exposure to substances, peer pressure, trauma, stress, prescriptions to addictive medications, and more. Because everyone’s path to addiction is different, it follows that treatment centers should offer a variety of services to meet individual needs. One of these services is outpatient treatment.

At Principles Recovery Center, we recognize the importance of offering high-quality outpatient programs through which individuals can access a selection of therapies that are essential to recovery. We do not offer just one outpatient program and expect it to work for everyone. We provide several forms of outpatient care so that you or your loved one can find the help that best fits your needs.

WHAT EXACTLY IS OUTPATIENT
TREATMENT FOR ADDICTION?

On the continuum of care in addiction treatment, traditional outpatient programs are often the final step after inpatient and partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient programming. As such, they help clients transition from full-time care to managing their own recovery at home.

But sometimes outpatient programs are the first step in a person’s journey. Outpatient programs are especially valuable for those who cannot afford to take time off of work, school, or home obligations to attend an inpatient  o or full-day program.  The flexible, versatile nature of outpatient programs mean they can be incorporated more easily into a client’s schedule. Also, outpatient programming is less expensive than inpatient treatment and may therefore be the more practical choice for some clients.

At Principles Recovery Center, our traditional outpatient program differs from our other levels of outpatient care in the amount of time required, allowing for greater flexibility in scheduling.

DO I NEED DETOX BEFORE OUTPATIENT TREATMENT?

Whether you will benefit from medical detox will depend on your current level of substance use, how long you’ve been using, and which substance/s you use. Generally, we recommend inpatient treatment for clients who require medical detox, as intensive care is shown to be the most effective in severe cases of addiction. However, if outpatient treatment is your only feasible option, medical detox may still be essential to safely rid your body of the substance so that you are physically and mentally ready to fully engage in treatment.

Principles Recovery Center’s Approach to Traditional Outpatient Treatment

Our Outpatient Program in South Florida

Traditional outpatient treatment may be the option for you if you have finished an inpatient, partial hospitalization, or intensive outpatient program and are looking for a final step down before treatment ends. It may also work if you have a mild addiction or do not have the finances or time to attend a higher level of treatment. With as little as 12 hours of treatment each week, clients in traditional outpatient care often find it very easy to incorporate their treatments and therapies into their daily schedules.

THE BENEFITS OF OUR BROWARD
COUNTY OUTPATIENT PROGRAM

At Principles Recovery Center, our traditional outpatient program offers individuals who suffer from substance use disorder both the structure and flexibility to help accommodate their familial and career responsibilities. Outpatient treatment centers around group therapy, in which clients learn about and discuss topics like stress reduction, relapse prevention, responsibility, accountability, and much more. We offer flexible day or evening scheduling options, while still providing clients the treatment they need to achieve long-term recovery.

Outpatient clients will also be assigned a primary counselor who will help the client address any underlying issues in order to prevent relapse. Family counseling is also part of outpatient programming, as addiction affects the entire family.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR SOUTH FLORIDA OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS

It’s important to remember that every individual’s recovery journey is unique. Similarly, the resources and strategies that are extremely effective for one person might not be as effective for someone else. For this reason, Principles Recovery Center emphasizes individualization as a key part of the recovery process and essential to achieving lasting success in recovery.

When you or a loved one is looking to begin treatment at Principles Recovery Center, one of the first steps is the initial consultation and assessment. This allows us to gauge your history in addiction and make the best possible treatment recommendations.

Depending on the severity of the addiction, an individual might begin the recovery process with an initial period of detoxification. This serves as a primer for treatment and ensures that the client isn’t suffering from withdrawal when treatment begins. Our programs provide a well-rounded recovery curriculum designed to foster lasting recovery and prepare our clients for re-entering their respective communities.
